The President of the United States of America is the head of the state, and is regarded as the face of the American people. As per US Constitution, the President is also the Commander-in-chief of the United States Armed Forces, and is the head of the entire Federal Government. The first President of the United States was George Washington, and the list of American presidents shows that there have been 43 more Presidents since then, Barack Obama being the 44th American President.
