Anna Kournikova
Born in Moscow, Russia, on 7th June 1981, Anna Kournikova started to play tennis at the age of 7. She turned professional at the age of 14 and went on to win the European Champions and Italian Open junior tournaments. At the age of 15, she made her Grand Slam debut and reached the fourth round of the U.S Open. As a Grand Slam winner in Australia in 1999 and 2001, with Martina Hingis as her partner, she proved her specialty in doubles. The highest singles world ranking she achieved in International tennis career is #8. In the year 2004, she retired from professional tennis due to chronic lower back trouble. Besides being a tennis player, she is also a famous model and was voted as the ‘Sexiest Woman in the World’ in FHM’s 100 Sexiest Girls poll for 2002.
